Emma + Thomas's Spring Engagement Session: Inniswood Metro Gardens, Westerville, Ohio

This winter is flying by and spring is not far behind! I'm reflecting back on some of my favorite sessions this past spring and I wanted to share some of my favorites from Emma and Thomas's engagement session.

I had the honor of working with these two in 2016 for their wedding and engagement session. The couple met through mutual friends, and after 5 years of dating they decided to tie the knot! They selected the beautiful Inniswood Metro Gardens in Westerville, Ohio for their engagement session. Inniswood is a truly unique park in the Columbus area. It offers is a large variety of gardens/backdrops for us to choose from, plus you also have a wooded area too and a really neat bridge! The park volunteers and staff do an excellent job changing up the flowers throughout the seasons, so no two portrait sessions there look alike!

Enjoy some of my favorites from their session!

Hannah & Joel's Spring Wedding - Park of Roses & The Barn at Rocky Fork Creek, Columbus, Ohio

Hannah & Joel Wedding

April 15th, 2016

Whetstone Park of Roses | Columbus, Ohio

The Barn at Rocky Fork Creek | New Albany, Ohio

From the first moment I met Hannah and Joel at a bridal show, I loved everything about them. Hannah's laugh is contagious and she is one of the sweetest and most bubbly people you will ever meet. Joel's easy-going and positive style is a perfect match for her. The couple's love of food and cooking runs deep and connects them - it's actually how they met! They originally met while working together at Whole Foods. They both have a gift when it comes to food and flavors, and their culinary talents are exceptional! They've created a fabulous local food blog, "The Beard and The Baker" and have even been featured on Good Day Columbus. You can visit their website here and see some great tips, recipes, and local restaurant reviews here: http://www.thebeardandthebaker.com/

In addition to their love of the culinary world, two of the things Hannah and Joel value the most is their loved ones and truly living in the moment. When asked what their dream wedding would be like, they described it as having natural and fun vibes, a celebration of those closest to them, and like "a party where we happen to get married".

Their wedding day was just that - They were blessed with an amazingly warm and beautiful spring day in April for their ceremony at the Park of Roses. Everything about it was perfect! Flowers were blooming, the sky was blue, and Hannah looked stunning in her gown while Joel looked dapper in his suspenders. A close friend of the couple officiated their ceremony. After the ceremony, they headed to one of their favorite restaurants, The Barn at Rocky Fork Creek in Gahanna, for their reception.

It was truly a pleasure getting to know them both in the year prior to their wedding and has been wonderful to see how their lives have continued to grow in their culinary pursuits and growing family! :-) I cannot wait to see what other adventures the future holds for them!

Enjoy some of my favorite photos from their big day!

Whitney + Greg's Winter Engagement Session: Gahanna Woods State Nature Preserve & Studio, Columbus, Ohio

We wrapped up 2016 and started the year off right with an engagement session for one of our spring wedding couples, Whitney and Greg! The pair's relationship has been growing for the past few years and they are set to tie the knot this May! The two braved a beautiful, but chilly day at one of my all-time favorite locations, Gahanna Woods State Nature Preserve, before heading to the studio for some indoor photos as well.

Even though it was my first time meeting Greg, it was easy to see the special connection they both share.  The session was authentic and fun - they know just how to make each other giggle and it was so nice to get to know them a little better. I enjoyed capturing their love and beautiful connection. I can't wait to capture their big day in just a few months!

"Dakota" Dog & Family Studio Portrait Session - Gahanna/Columbus, Ohio

The winter months have me reflecting on some of my favorite sessions from this past year. Absolutely loved everything this session with Dakota, a Golden Retriever, and his family in the studio. It was such an honor to capture their love and Dakota's beautiful personality. Dogs are truly a member of the family and as such, they should be photographed like one. Enjoy a few of my favorites from their session!

Briana + Steve's Downtown Engagement Session: Bicentennial Park, Columbus, Ohio

I've had so much fun getting to know Briana and Steve this year... it's hard to believe that their wedding day is just a couple of weeks away!

For their session they wanted to feature the Columbus skyline so we ventured to one of my favorite downtown Columbus locations - Bicentennial Park! It was a cooler and breezy May day in Ohio, but we had so much fun exploring downtown and making images!

Congratulations again to them both! Can't wait for their winter wedding!

Enjoy a few of my favorites from their engagement session!

Alex & Joaquin's Spring Wedding - Dublin Community Church & The Hilton Polaris, Columbus, Ohio

There's no greater honor than to be asked by someone you know to capture them and their loved ones on one of the most important days of lives. I've had the pleasure of knowing the bride, Alex, since we were kids and was so excited to be a part of her and Joaquin's wedding day. It's always amazing to watch someone, especially someone you know as they say I do, and I couldn't be happier for Alex and her wonderful husband Joaquin!

The two exchanged vows at the beautiful Dublin Community Church in the heart of downtown Dublin, Ohio. Despite an interesting mix of Ohio Spring weather, we were able to make some beautiful portraits of the two of them outdoors in front of the church with some some EPIC shots where the wind picked up Alex's veil! They're some of my favorites from their day!

The reception followed at the Hilton Polaris's large ballroom. It was the perfect location and a wonderful gathering that highlighted the couple, their families, and dear friends. Alex and Joaquin wowed the crowd when they entered the reception with their first dance, which they had learned at Fred Astaire Dance Studios. Just as breathtaking was the fabulous cake designed by Capital City Cakes!

We loved everything about their wedding day and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them! Enjoy some of my favorites from their big day!
