Dog Days of Summer Mini Sessions are one of the highlights of our summers and is hard to believe we’ve been hosting this fundraiser for the past 9 years!
We started hosting the Dog Days of Summer Mini Session Fundraiser to help dog owners get great photographs with the special dogs in their lives and to give back to a great cause! The annual event benefits local dog rescue, Friends of the Shelter in Columbus, Ohio. We are honored to help support Friends of the the Shelter and the great work they do helping fund the medical care of the sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center in Columbus, Ohio. This year’s 9th Annual Dog Days of Summer Fundraiser was a success and with local support, we were able to raise $800 for Friends of the Shelter! We made some wonderful images of local dog owners and their dogs at the beautiful Park of Roses in Columbus, Ohio.
It’s always a treat to capture families with their dogs! I had so much fun working with Nicole, Dave, Andrew, Lexie, and their dog Zoey during their family portrait session last year. We went to Highbanks Metro Park which has many dog-friendly areas that are great for photographs. We captured the family amongst wooded and grassy areas, and on the banks of the Olentangy River. We loved working with everyone including their Rhodesian Ridgeback dog, Zoey!
I’m so excited to feature Jeffrey’s first birthday session! I’ve been blessed to know his parents Jack and Karla as friends and past wedding clients and was so honored to capture their son Jeffrey’s 1st birthday portraits! Jeffrey is a bright-eyed, smart, curious, and happy boy who loves playing with his toys, snuggling with his parents, and reading. It was such a treat to capture him and his wonder for the world during his session, along with some updated family portraits of him with Jack and Karla.
Since Ohio weather can be unpredictable in the spring, we scheduled their session at local studio, The Barn at Be Changed Studio in Westerville. It was a beautiful location for Jeffrey’s session and we were able to capture Jeffrey and their family portraits in a unique space.
I loved every second of working with the James family last summer at the Everal Barn in Westerville! Family photos are one of the best ways to capture your loved ones for all time and they are one of my favorite things to photograph. It was such a treat to capture 3 generations of the James family - grandparents, parents and aunts, and grandchildren - all together for their family portraits. Time goes by fast and children grow up quickly, so it’s extra special when extended families can gather together and capture little ones before their next growth spurt.
Julie and Stefan are preparing to exchange vows this fall! With both of them being from the Columbus area, they wanted to feature the beauty and charm of downtown in their engagement session. We were able to do just that! We visited McFerson Commons Park and Bicentennial Park to capture the two of them with some of the city's popular attractions and iconic skyline views. When Lindsay mentioned that she wanted to have their engagement session with "twinkly-holiday lights" this winter I was so excited! December is one of the best times of the year to get the special holiday light feel and I knew that Bicentennial Park and the Scioto Mile in downtown Columbus, Ohio would be the perfect place! For a relatively mild winter, we just so happened to pick one of the chilliest days in December! I'm so glad the Lindsay and Brian braved the chilly temperatures and joined me for an evening of making some amazing night portraits!
